The main reason why TikTok is so successful is because they have a massive influx of new viewers and creators.
The app’s main goal is to keep as many people on the app for as long as possible – therefore, if you’re to grow your TikTok, you must satiate the app’s desire to keep people on it for as long as possible.
Due to this, if you are a brand new account, the algorithm awards you with temporary god powers.
Of course, if you’re video is horrid to look at (bad lighting, poor quality audio, etc.), it’s going to bomb no matter what.
However, if you video is quality, you should combine that with your account’s initial volatility.
Sure, it could bomb. It’s possible.
However, if it’s decent, and accomplishes the basic goal of getting viewers to watch the entire video from start to finish (as well as acquiring engagement such as likes and comments), you should see massive results from that one first video.
Growing on TikTok is All About Niching
This has been said time and time again, but if you’re not niching down to an almost-microscopic level, you’re severely limiting your chances of success on the platform.
This is simply due to the nature of competition.
There are a million people making dance videos, gaming videos,- whatever have you.
What do YOU do that is completely unique?
What do you do that would make a random stranger unable to scroll past without hitting the follow button?
I find there’s one very simple way to do that – mission statements.
Make Your TikTok Account a Mission
One thing that the average TikToker likely isn’t doing is creating a mission or a journey for their audience to follow them along on.
That is why mission accounts almost always perform well.
Something as simple as “learning to draw in 100 days” or “one year bodybuilding transformation” is very easy to succeed with.
This is because you’re giving new people a very specific mission to stay up to date with, something that they wouldn’t want to keep scrolling past.
If you made generic dance videos, anyone could just scroll and find another one.
But, if you built your account off of unusual or unique dances, you’d have much better luck – since that content isn’t a swipe away.
There’s no set-in-stone answer, nor does your account HAVE to follow a rigid 100-day plan, but the mindset is what is important.
You must adopt the mindset of the consumer if you want to grow your TikTok.
Living Inside the Mind of the Consumer
While they most likely aren’t paying customers, every single person that watches your videos and views your account is a consumer, of sorts.
It is your job to satisfy that consumer in as many ways possible, but most importantly: getting them to watch the video from start to finish.
With that said, while trying to grow your TikTok from 0 to 1,000 followers fast, you need to pretend that you are the one consuming the content.
While under 1,000 followers on TikTok, you have zero brand authority.
It’s unfortunate, but it’s true.
They have the name recognition that every new viewer automatically associates with quality, because even if a viewer hasn’t watched one of their videos before, the onslaught of sponsorships, likes, comments, and “celebrity-ness” that the videos display will incentivize a new viewer to continue watching.
While under 1,000 followers, you unfortunately don’t have that just yet.
Therefore, it is absolutely imperative that your videos are easy-to-understand, direct, and prevent that new viewer from swiping up if you’re trying to grow your TikTok.
Consistency is the Undeniable Key
While quality is always something you should strive to achieve, being consistent with your content is the most important thing.
I cannot stress this enough – of course, you don’t want to make garbage videos.
But, posting once a week simply will not cut it if you’re trying to grow your TikTok from 0 to 1,000 followers quickly.
Could you slow it down after hitting 1K? Perhaps, that’s up to you.
However, for me personally, I would try to post at least once per day, every single day. Always.
By doing this, you’re reestablishing brand awareness with your followers and creating top-of-mind authority.
By posting frequently, you’re drastically increasing your changes of having new people show up to your livestreams (once you do hit that 1,000 mark), and increase the likelihood of getting dedicated supporters that frequently comment on your posts (which is of course, an inherent algorithm boost).

It is up to you now to be as creative, dedicated, and innovative as possible.
